Our elem. school has done this for years! We use company called Art to Remember. THe kids ahve SO much fun. They draw something and thn the art teachers send them away and a few weks later the kids come hme with their artwork in magnet form. If you want to keep it it is $5 and they send an order form o repliate ur child'sart onto shirts, cups, etc....Great fundraiser!

Hi Angela,

I know there's a "general" profit on the OW merchandise. Some items you earn 50% some items it's a bit less, but I think it averages around 40%. I can find out for sure for you. I'll email my friend who is a rep. for them.

Also, for the school calendar magnets we usded www.magnetstreet.com for those since it's a different product then what OW does. OW does the artsy stuff and Magnet Street does the more commercial magnets.

Hey Holly, I took a look at OWY's site.... looks great. The only thing they don't provide on there is pricing. I emailed them with some questions. Could you tell me what your profits have been like in the past when doing this fundraiser?

Is this the company that you used to purchase your magnets that the Builder donated to your school? If so, do you remember the cost per magnet?

Thanks!

We use www.originalworks.com. We have nothing but a posive experience with them. I have a friend who taught elem. art for 20 years and used them for the last 14 of those years and made lots of money for her dept. Now, she's the local rep. for them. Check them out and have them come to your school and show you all of the cool stuff they do. We have highly recommended them to many other schools. FYI... you will have a more successful fundraiser if you do them in the fall so the items can be used for holiday gifts. The program takes about 9 weeks from beginning to passing out the finished project. (of course this depends on the # of students and how the art teacher conducts the project). Some art teachers start first thing at the beginning of the school year to allow enough time to get all of the students' work completed, send home the order forms etc.

Good luck,
Holly

Our school used a company called Artwear by You. It included all sorts of things T-shirts, mugs, etc. not just magnets.

I just heard about this at our executive meeting. The other elementary school in our county did a fundraiser for their art department. The students each colored, drew, painted, what have you, on a sheet of paper and then they were made into refridgerator magnets. How cute is that??? I don't know the details as far as the company used or the cost. But, was told they made a good amount of money for the department. I'm thinking this would go over great at our school! Have any of you done anything like this?? Know names of companies and costs? Thanks!
