Mouse racing / Fish Races

I don't even like the sound "Mouse Race." I have an incredible fear of rodents.

A neighboring county does a "Catfish Festival" every year. It's a town thing. I've not been but hear it's fun. They do turtle racing. Yep they actually race turtles. I talked to a classmate from there. She was a little offended that the person who usually won was the son of the announcer. Ha Ha. Apparently it is very popular.

Kmamom....Believe it or not they use the Hackensack River!

I also wondered how you do a mice or fish race?
I have only ever heard of duck races using yellow plastic ducks.

OK--I'm an idiot and when I read the discussion title I thought you meant the actual animals and was all excited . I was hoping to see the logistics of how to run a mouse race, and where you would get the mice. Like I said, I'm a little thick sometimes.

We would love to do the duck race, but alas, have no water source.

Our High School does a duck race in the river. They charge $10 a duck and the winning prize is huge...the amount of money they raise is also huge. They do it once a year and it is a big event.
