Desperate to raise money

Box tops are great! There is also Campbells labels worth 1 and 5 point each towards merchandise and tyson chicken labels which is worth $.24 per label. Our school is holding a boxtop shop every friday before school kids bring in there labels and get to use them as cash for penny toys. Example: 10 Boxtops is worth $1 and the kids gets a $.06 toy. That is a huge profit. The kids are getting something all year so it will not die off. Foot locker also has a school fundraiser that offers 5% or 10% and they supply the school with the handouts and cards. You can sign up for take charge of education through Target and each person signed up gets 10% of sales to the school of choice with there Target card or Target Visa. I know there are more stores that offer this. I think some grocery stores do it to. Our biggest fundraisers last year were Chuck e cheese and Barnes n Nobles. Do Barnes in Nobles in Novemebr or early December when people are buying for Christmas. I think our profits were close to $2000 for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday. Our principal dressed as cat n the hat and read to kids during the event.

A couple quick ideas:
- Local donation. Contact your town/village/etc mayor or other political people and put it on the line asking for funds to get the organization up and running. We sent a letter to our mayor a couple years ago when he was pushing for city beautification asking for a donation and we received a personal check for $500 toward it.
- Talk to area resturants/fast food. One of the local restuarants by us let's us supply him 4 employees for 4 hours, and we get 10% of the total nights profit. $300-500 dending on the night.
- Have an event. Get a DJ, have a dance, have a cookout (hot dogs and chips are cheap). Charge a couple bucks. We just had a cook out, charged $3 per person (included hot dog, chips, desert), the local fire department came, police, middle school band and other stuff. We made $922 after all expenses.

another thing to get your school to start doing is collecting BOX TOPS. That's FREE money.. as long as parents can start collecting them. Our program has grown from $150.00 first year, to over $1500 a year now.. with almost no maintenance.

We are in the same boat. We have already had our major fund raiser and only cleared 2000.00. In past years that is 2500.00 less we are needing some fast and fun fundraisers. We have 189 students and live in the poorest county in the state. Help any ideas? Email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Looking for information on the cookbook sales.

Has anyone actually put one together? Do you collect recipes school wide and then use a specific program to type them up.

I would be curious to know what kind of cost and profit was made!

Thanks.

Okay TIner 68 you have to give details on the Kiss the Pig or Pie the Teacher!

Did you have them purchase whip cream pies the day of the event...or sell them ahead of time? How much did you make?

And Kiss the Pig, how did that work!

Thanks!
