HELP! PLEASE!

MommaStrack - Welcome to the boards!

Golf tournament I can't help you with, and though our school hasn't done a carnival (yet) I know if you search on these boards there's tons of info on it. I do know a local school was successful with having their town's businesses each sponsoring one of those inflatable activities, and the group charged a dollar for a "bounce" session, and a local diner donated their grill and food for hamburgers and hotdogs. Naturally since everything was donated the money made was pure profit. Depending on how elaborate you wanted to get and how much help you have, you could really go to town and have some fun and nice things to do.

I've never heard of a company that does this, but based on an experience with a company that runs walk-a-thons, you'd be far better off doing it on your own. Everything you'd make you'd keep.

I can't believe you have to come up with $50,000 a year! If our PTA had to do that the officers' heads would explode! They can barely handle our $15,000!

Our school is thinking about hosting 2 new fundraisers. One is a carnival, with rides, games, etc. The other is a Golf Tournament. Can anyone help me with how to get these started. Is there a place that helps set up and plan Carnivals?

I'm also open to any other ideas for great fundraisers.

I'm a Parent Club Officer at our school and at the beginning of the year we tried to explain that if we All worked hard together on a couple of big fundraisers that we wouldn't have to do a bunch of small ones. Due to lack of parent cooperation we've had to bring out lots of small fundraisers. We do have one large fund raiser a year a school dinner and auction...however we still have quite a large amount to raise every year...this year is $50,000.00...so as you can see we have to work very hard to earn this. We feel like we are beating our heads against a brick wall.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
