Our school is doing their first real basket auction this year, so as the PTO President I am doing lots of research. In the August 2005 PTO Today magazine there is an article about asking each classroom to provide a piece of kids artwork for the auction. As this is our first year, we have settled on simply asking each classroom's parents to provide items for a themed basket for the auction. If this goes well, we will circulate a copy of the article and ask the teachers to start thinking about what they will provide next year!
I've been reading about some really creative items to use in the silent auctions. I'd love to hear more. If you've seen or completed a "custom" item that can be used for a silent auction, please share!!
