Thanks for all the great ideas. Our carnival is supposed to be in 2 days but the weather is supposed to be rainy, cold and very windy. so, I have to cancel until the following weekend. Thanks to all who listed donators because I was able to get an american girl doll, $100. in circuit city gift cards and TONS of other stuff. We have made a plinko game also so thanks to everyone who responded to that!

The favorite game of the older kids at our Spring carnival is the Sponge Toss. Take a 4' x 4' piece of plywood and cut a hole about 2/3 up big enough for a person's head to fit through. Build legs to support it in an upright position. It should sit so that the "target"(a teacher, parent or student) can comfortably kneel or sit behind the board and put their head through. Kids then throw three wet sponges at the target. If they hit with two they win a prize. We started off with teachers and other adults as the targets years ago but the kids loved the idea of being hit with wet sponges so much last year, that this year we charged tickets to be a "target".
Some other games the older kids enjoy that don't require construction are a cake walk, free throw shooting, and hula hoop contest.

Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat.

We made a plinko game for our fall festival last year. I took a 4' by 4' sheet of plywood and drilled holes in it, then I cut dowel rods about 4 inches long and put in the holes, then I cut circles out of the left over plywood to make the chips. then you paint it. This game was a big hit! I hope this helps.

We rented one for our FunDay from a concession company for $5/day. A dad checked it out and made one for the next year. We also had a marble game that was similar that the kids really liked too.
