Raffle idea

A good friend of mine took me to a Teddy Bear luncheon and they had the neatest idea for a raffle I just have to share!

On several tables they had displayed these really adorable teddy bears (of course!) that had been donated by members in advance. Each bear had a cute tag on it with a number, next to the bear was a small bag with the bear's number on it. To "bid" on the bear or bears of your desire, you first purchase tickets (I think I paid $5 for 10 tickets) then you write on each ticket your registation number which was on your name tag. (the number also served as the number that was on my ticket to the event I had purchased in advance)
After I wrote my number on each of my tickets, I then dropped a ticket or so in the bear of my choice. After lunch and two speakers, the winners were picked. Each bear was brought up to the MC and a ticket was drawn, if your number was on that ticket you won that bear! Now yes, some gals did walk away with several bears (my daughter took home 5!) but I have to admit it was fun and a neat way to bid on something with out feeling as if you really spent alot of money. Also my 11 year old daughter had a blast choosing just the right bear- and she was able to get all 5!
They also had a silent auction table with many higher priced items that had been donated- one item was a custom made bear just for the event! I think that went for $200!

This was just to good of an idea to keep under my hat and this way I don't have to type it up twice!

As far as rules etc, I don't know any more than what I saw that day. It did take a entire afternoon (about three hours) but was a great way to spend a Sunday!
