Catalog Fundraisers - Who to Use & Why?

Catalog Fundraisers - Who to Use & Why? was created by IMovePeople
I am chairing the fall/catalog fundraiser at my child's middle school, approximate enrollment 1800 kids. Now, I am not new to PTO nor to fundraising, but being new to this school and stepping into this role 2 weeks or so before school started with the vendor already selected - I found the representative to be pretty inflexible and hold to "the contract is signed". While that is true - I think perhaps a bit shortsighted as I will have at least one child at this school for the next 4 years. Anyway - I have not been pleased with communication and service from this person so far, and we are all of 3 days into the sales process. I am cautiously optimistic about the future of the sale as last year the students sales totaled over $110,000. So my question is this . . . who do you use that you would suggest, and more importantly why you are pleased with them? As I know that Tim prefers to keep unpaid commercials off the airwaves of PTO Today - and rightfully so - please feel free to email me with your thoughts. I am planning to request written information from several vendors and then interview them for future sales. I will invite the current vendor to participate, but must admit that they have a strike against them going in because of the way things have been handled so far with this sale. If you have a recommendation - please email me with the name of the company and if you are using them and are entitled to some kind of referral bonus - please be sure to give me your school's name so that I let them know how I was referred.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
