Thank you for all of the wonderful responses! I have been trying to find "dotties list" and I have been unable to track it down. If anyone has a copy, please e-mail it to me. Thanks again for the great tips!

hi all.. been away from email for awhile sorry. To answer some of your questions I did not use "Dotties List" but I did read it and get ideas for local businesses. I must say the majority of my donations were either local or from the Boston area (I am outside of Boston) I didn't use Dotties because of my time constraints I only had around 2 months to organize auction. If you are going to mail out requests you might want to do it 3-4 months ahead of time. I used email alot to get addresses for charitable donation departments. The companies I had success getting donations from were 1) American Girl (from Dotties List)note that you request an application they mail it to you you then fill it out and then they'll consider your organization for a donation. 2)GBI Marketing (fundraising arm for Yankee Candle- they were fabulous and are a great product sales fundraiser (have used them in the past) They sent me 6 candles- about $100 value. Address is 220 South St. Bernardston, MA 01337 3) Land's End $25 gift cert. 2 Lands End Lane Dodgeville, WI 53595 4) Vermont Teddy Bear -requested via email.. search for them.. they sent a Teddy Bear 5)Gymboree ($35 gift cert) 700 Airport Blvd. Suite 200 Burlingame, CA 94010. That was pretty much the extent of my "national" success everything else was local.. Try Sport teams, Ballet, Food Companies, Candy Companies.. and if in Massachusetts let me know I have more ideas. I also had success from Big Apple Circus (they are coming to Boston in a month and gave me 4 tickets). Companies I did not have success with are Mattel, Fisher Price, Hersheys, Ocean Spray, Poland Spring, Amazon.com Monster.com (have a blimp they give rides in). We do have a local Sky diving outfit that is a good one perhaps you have one in your area or a Hot Air balloon ride?? Just some ideas.. four of us got together to offer Flash light tag, movie and popcorn for 8 children for 4 hours this generated $250 dollars, prime parking space at the school, our local fire dept. donated a ride in the fire truck for 12 children ($300), Ride in police car, bull dozer, principal for the day.. a lot of these are good in that there is no cost to anyone!! Well I think that's it.. as I think of more I will post more. I am happy to help since I would have been lost without this site!

Where can I find Dotties list? I searched for it but nothing came up. I am also interested in a donation solicitation letter that can be sent to large corporations. Thanks in advance!
