STUDENT FUNDRAISING PRIZES...HELP??

20 years 9 months ago #85694 by flmom2001
Our fundraising company provides pretty good prizes but there's always one prize that we provide; this year it's an ice cream party for the top selling class, last year it was a limo lunch for the top sellers.(I should clarify- we do the work but the company reimburses us. They are very good to us!)
In the past we've used ice cream parties, popcorn parties, pizza parties, etc. as incentives, but between state testing and a new magnet program in our school there isn't much time for parties anymore. I suspect this year's ice cream party will be at lunchtime so it doesn't interfere with class time.

Even though it's turning fall, for our membership drive prize (a class from each grade with the most members) received an extra 30 min of recess (volunteers watched the kids, teacher's got an extra 30 min free time) and got to choose ice cream from an ice cream truck. I phoned a local company that sent their ice cream truck with a huge selection (we were allowed to limit the cost factor) we paid only for the ice cream that was eaten. Once we stated the prize, the teachers and students were full throttle on getting people to join. Other prizes we've used are gift certificates to Chuckee Cheese, Toys R Us, WalMart, etc.

WHAT DO OTHER SCHOOLS DO FOR STUDENT PRIZES. WE ARE HAVING A CATALOG SALE AND THEY DO PROVIDE SMALL PRIZES. BUT WE WOULD LIKE TO DO MORE THAN THAT TO TRY TO UP SALES.

WHAT HAVE OTHER SCHOOLS DONE TO PROMOTE PARTICIPATION WITH PRIZES, REWARDS, ECT?
