In our community we have a group called the "Bee Spring Opry". They do benefits for families in need as well as other fundraisers. The women dress up as men country stars and the men dress up as women. We are small town so everyone knows everyone that is on stage, it if very funny and people love to watch them. They sell carnations donated by a local florists for the "fans" to throw at them and then they give the flowers back for resale. They raised over $2000.00 for our Angel Tree Project for our family resource.

We also had a change drive which was very successful, considering we were snowed out so much! We raised $1200.00. We encouraged students to bring in loose change they found around the house and to not break their piggy banks. We ran this for a month.

We raised about $17,000 at our Fall Festival this year. (it was a record) We incorperate a King/Queen, Prince/Princess contest into the fall festival. Since I have been around this contest has never raised under $10,000.00. That works for us, this contest is a long standing tradition.

We are a VERY SMALL elementary school and are trying to come up with new ideals for fund raising. For the past several years, we've had a Fall Festival which generated much of our yearly funds, however, this past year wasn't quite as successfull. Not to mention the time and hard work which goes into it. We rely heavily on donations from businesses and such, but this past year that was very little. We have considered taking this year off from the Festival and trying something different. Something which doesn't cost much to do, something less time consuming and something FUN!! We don't have alot of parent involvement and would like to do something they would really enjoy participating in. We've considered ideals such as Parent-Faculty sports events and Womanless beauty pageants. Has anyone had any success with these such activities or does anyone have any other suggestions.
