How much is too much for a spring festival?

It's never too much if you can do it cheaply. The cake auction is a good idea...we do a cake walk where parents donate the food and ppl have to pay money to do the walk instead of a ticket. You can also take a board and nail or screw on L shaped braces behind it, cut a hole in the center you can have kids try to throw wet sponges through.. I found a great website on advice and loads of game ideas, check it out, and good luck www.schoolcarnivals.com

Hi.

We are a small, new charter school (225 students). This is our second year in operation. We are planning a Spring Festival and Craft Fair for one of our major Fundraisers.

Last year, we had just a festival with games for small children. This year we would like to keep the games for the little ones, but add some games for older kids and adults. We were thinking of a dunk tank and I saw the idea about the karaoke jail. I am looking for any other ideas we could use!

We also considered having a "cake auction". A friend told us their cub scout troop just did one and made $500 (and really no outsiders came).

We also planned on a basket raffle.

My question is...how much is too much? Can we do all of this? Or is it just too many things? If we should only do one, which one is a better money maker? I am very new to all of this so any and all suggestions would be appreciated!

THANKS!!
