School Walk-A-Thon

At our former school we held an annual jog-a-thon. I'm trying to work it into our new school because it has been so successful and our new school doesn't do very well with catelog sales.

I've talked about it before but the best breakdown I have is in this topic
www.ptotoday.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=...f=15;t=000686#000002

As an update since I first posted that, our next jog-a-thon raised $54,000. The top prizes were a bike, boombox and gameboy, with the top earner in the school having first choice, etc. and the top six from both jogs went to lunch in a limo with the principal (all donated except the limo which was $100)

It's also important to note that to my knowledge, there is no businesses here that set these up for you. (Is this an east coast type of business?) All of the schools in my council that hold any-thons, do all of the work in-house. This includes our former school.

Has anyone done a Walk-A-Thon. We want to do one in the spring, but we want to do it in house to avoid the fees.

If your school has successfully done a walk-a-thon and set everything up in-house, please share how you pulled it off. I am so open to any and everything. Thanks!!!
