Companies who say no - PLEASE NO ME TOO'S!!!

Replied by <Chris> on topic RE: Companies who say no - PLEASE NO ME TOO'S!!!
Hi,
I know, I'm sorry, I did see that other post on this topic. I guess I should have just replied to it. I think I didn't because of the "me toos".

I just mailed out some more letters today and forgot to check this board. I can see already that I'll be getting some no's! Oh well. That will teach me not to check.

The only other no's so far that I've gotten are:

Pocono Racetrack (I forget the official name, but it's a Nascar track in the Poconos) - unable to fill all requests, so they don't donate at all

People Magazine - same reason as above

Hope this helps someone.

Thanks to those who have replied!

Ohmigawd! This sounds just like the following thread I posted a while back:

www.ptotoday.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=15;t=001729

I think for an unregistered user (Chris) that a lot was said about what was on our minds. A lot of people work really hard to research organizations and e-mail people as well as compose their own tailored letter to the company. It's unfair for someone to say "me too" and then just change the school name and send the letter. I've probably put in a good 10 to 12 hours myself of research, writing, mailing, etc. If I gave my entire list to someone and they typed it, changed the school name, it would take them, like, 15 minutes. In any event, my list of no's include:

1. Best Buy - only if there is a store in your city.
2. William J. Clinton Presidential Library - cannot accommodate all requests.
3. KB Toys - cannot accommodate all requests.

That's the only no's I've received. I've received about 30 positives and still waiting on about 230 more. Of course, considering I only sent them last week, I'm not worried at all.

Ok, here's my declines so far and their reason why. All of these were send to the corporate HQ or office.

~Joe Gibbs Racing - not at this time
~Carnival Cruise Lines - requests far exceed available funding
~Arizona Diamondbacks - only donate within Arizona
~Seaworld - too many requests
~Kroger - limited funds
~Owens Corning - unable to support all worthwhile causes
~Coach - too many requests to fill them all
~Universial Orlando - supports Central Florida
~St. Louis Cardinals - new stadium opening in 2006 without full capacity & too many requests
~Holiday Inn - too many requests, not at this time
~Paul Mitchell Systems - more national support & too many requests
~Creative Momories - do not donate at corporate level
~Cincinnati Bengals - only donate to local Cincinnati communities
~ConAir - overspent their charitable budget
~Adidas - budget for 05 and 06 already committed, too many requests
~Coca-Cola - national or international support from corp, contact local bottler
~John Deere - does not donate from corp, see local dealer
~Six Flags Great America - too many requests
~Holland America cruise Lines - only donates to non profit organizations that support health, environmental, marittime, and arts in their homeport areas - don't qualify
~Briggs & Stratton - too many requests
~Burger King - only donates on a national level & too many requests
~KFC - too many requests
~Proctor & Gamble - only donate nationally
~Kohl's - only donate through special program & not for this type of event
~Omaha Steaks - too many requests
~Best Buy - supports United Way & Red Cross
~Orange County Choppers - too many requests each day
~McDonalds - only national or international, see local manager
~Fox Racing - national charities only
~Sony - just no, no reason
~MGA - actually called and left me a message saying they were unable to help at this time
~Wrigley - only supports grants through their corp

I'm sure I have a few more around here but that's most of them. Hope this help you out.

Companies who say no - PLEASE NO ME TOO'S!!! was created by <Chris>
I am new to these boards and am getting a little overwhelmed with similar topics and a lot of threads filled with "me too". I confess, I did start out by posting some "me too" comments myself.

Some people work very hard at researching companies and finding their corporate headquarter addresses. I can understand why they would not want to just keep emailing and/or posting their lists to people. I have never received a list that I posted a "me too" for.

I thought maybe we could try posting companies/organizations that tell us no, and why. Maybe our school doesn't qualify, but someone else's will.

Please, please, please do not post a "send me the list" email. I know of no official list. But perhaps together, we can try to make one.

I'll start. So far, I have received no's from:

Dorney Park, Allentown, PA - they focus on disabled children organizations

Pittsburg Penguins (hockey) - they focus on their immediate area

Hope this helps someone. I'll post more as I get them, but I am sure hoping that I don't get too many!
