We did a silent auction at the school halloween carnival. Each class made a basket that was made up of any theme that they picked. For example we had a coca-cola basket or a beanie basket that went for over a 100.00. We raised over 500.00 with about 8 baskets or so. Next year we are thinking about doing the auction but all the money each basket makes will go back to each classroom. We think that this will encourage the teachers and students to purchase more stuff for there own basket so that they may get alot more stuff like toys, paper, books or what ever they wish to purchase for there room. You may even just have the kids make something and have the parents bid on the stuff that they make.

We havn't done this but a neighboring school has, it went over good. I don't know if this is exactly what you are looking for eather.

They had a basket auction. Each class came up with a theme and put the stuff in baskets. For example one class was "Disney" items. Everything in the basket had something to do with disney. (movies, cups, t-shirts, ect...) They wrapped the baskets and then sold raffle tickets for their baskets. If you are doing this as a silent auction or regular auction it would work too.

Again, don't know if this was what you where looking for... But you could have the kids make something from a theme, and then put those items in a basket.

Somewhere on here I read that they had their kids make a banner and then sold the banners. Each child wrote their name and put their hand print on the banner. The grade, year, and teachers name was also on the banner.... Just another idea.

I love the idea of having each class make something for the auction. I was just wondering if anyone could expand on this idea and give me some suggestions on what the students in your school have done.
