Silent Auction - rules & guidelines

I wanted to get this topic going again as I am still looking for some more feedback in the area of silent auction rules. I am getting ready to finalize the rules I have put together and want to be sure I haven't missed anything.

We had some trouble in the area of dutch auctions last year, and I want to avoid a repeat. So this year I am covering all of the bases.

If others who have done silent auctions could email me This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. a copy of their rules/guidelines, it would be very helpful.

Thank you in advance.

I can send you the guidelines that I have put together so far...they still need work.

I typed in silent auction rules in my search engine and found some great school web sites who have done silent auctions. Several of them had rules I had not thought of. I am sure there are other parents out there who have rule sheets of their own.

I am hoping to get at least a few to compare with mine and see what I am missing.

Silent Auction - rules & guidelines was created by ptsoparent
This October I will be chairing our 2nd annual Silent Auction. Last year we had a little confusion among bidders on some of our dutch auction items. In order to eliminate that problem this year I have been searching the web for wording, etc. from other schools who run auctions.

I want to put together a very clear guideline sheet that will cover all the rules for the auction to avoid any problems this year.

I would love to see any rules, etc. that other schools have created. I have a rough draft prepared, but want to be sure I didn't miss anything.

Also, any feedback on how your auction is ran would be great. Last year we had bidders just write their name and phone number on the bidding sheet. This year we are registering the bidders and handing out bidding numbers.

We are also creating categories for our auction items this year due to the large number of auction items we have. We also contacted our local bank for the use of a credit card terminal for the night.

So if you have rules for your auction I would love to see them....send me an email please!
