This sounds like a great idea! How does it work? Do you invite area school PTO's. Could you provide some details on how you arrange this, how many tables does each vendor usually use. (I know they have lots of product to advertise.)
What vendors have you contacted in the past?

Any information would be great.

Our Council does a vendor fair and raises over $5K every time. We've done it for 15 years that I know of. We charge $75-100 per vendor(depending on the number of tables each rents).

I would think that a vendor would want a certain number of parent groups to attend in order for them to feel it was worth their time and expense. Could you get enough schools to send parents to attend? Let us know how things go for you...good luck.

Do you correlate product with vendor after meeting so many people and products at statewide conventions? How do you narrow your list down to final choice?

Guess you're not in an area where the PTO Today conferences are going to be...all the big fundraisers are there. Also, I'm in a big PTA state, and both the local district and the state have such gatherings (although we aren't charged to get in). I do not know if they charge the fundraising companies to exhibit or not; I should think that they would.

So--the idea certainly shouldn't be foreign to the fundraising companies, and I would think parent groups would be thrilled to see them all together like that if they don't have that opportunity now. The fundraising companies usually give free stuff away and/or have contests, so there's even more incentive to go and see what they have to offer. Go for it!
