Qucick Survey - How Much? How? How Many? What?

19 years 9 months ago #83741 by C. Brooks
We ran over $60K through last year and somehow spent more than we made. We are still trying to figure that one out. I'll mix it up from when I was prez and from what I know about last year. (Last year is a whole other thread)

Box Tops-$2,200 (2003-04)
Ink Cartridges- $800.00 (AR programs and other computer lab things)
Fall Festival-$19,000 (2004, should've been more)
Spirit Sales- $1,200 (2002)
Holiday Shop/Breakfast $1,200 (2002)
Change Drive-$1,200 (2003)
Basketball Tourney $2,000
Spring Fling-$1,200 (2003)

Most everything went for mulch when I was prez. Plus Fun Days usually cost around $500, AR Prizes $2K, Attendance/Academic prizes $2K, Computers $3K, Risograph- can't remember, Lamenating machine-$1,300, Teacher/Volunteer Appreciation $800.00. Ok I would have to really take my time on this list we spend alot of money on alot of things.

720 students
Gr 2-5

$15k - wrapping paper fundraiser
$2.4k - student directory
$800 - carnival (not designed to be moneymaker)
$200 - Bingo (ditto)
$700 - Scrip (could go up this year, second year)
$500 - Movie Night
$300 - Donations to PTO

We also earned about $1200 from the loyalty/reward programs, but that money goes directly to the school, not to PTO. Our bookfair earns about $3000, also directly to Media Center, not PTO-controlled. Our yearbook earned $2400 but, again, this program goes directly to school and is not in our budget.

There are over 20 expense categories in our annual budget, but they generally group into Enrichment, Recognition, and PTO Operations. Our single biggest expenses are Assemblies ($4500) and Teacher Reimbursement ($4000).

How much money did your fundraising make last year?

How did you earn it?
Example -
Box Tops for Education - $451.00
Chili Supper and Silent Auction - $2,727.00
Spring Carnival - $4,221.00
Candy-Grams - $1,351.00

How many students attend your school?
Example -
525 K-4 students

What did you spend the money raised on?

Thanks!
