We are having to budget for this as much as we can. The district is fighting budget cuts and has told us that they are unable to fund this since we already have one lab. We are useing the district approved vendors. If you ask me they are a little high. We(PTO & the School) have to fund all of this lab from the computers to the wiring to the desks and chairs.
Our school has just spent a large some of money on a math program called "Success Maker" which is a great program but is now needing our help to put in this lab.
I have seen in the past people talking on this sight about having blocks glazed in the school for a fundraiser but have been unable to find it again. But this is the kind of thing that we are thinking about.

In our district, there's never enough money for "technology", so this has been an area we've supported in the past. We see it as having an immediate and profound impact on the student's education, much like the science kits and math materials we also contribute.

I don't have experience with sponsorship programs on this, but do be very sure you are working with your district's technology staff to ensure whatever you get is acceptable.

Districts have had a lot of problems with well meaning donations that don't fit their technology plan. Examples are donations of actual technology they can't support; money raised to buy something like computers - forgetting that additional wiring and software also have to be covered; and purchasing equipment like color printers and then the school doesn't have the funds to maintain the ink cartridges.

There's often a lot more investment involved than just the initial purchase, so do make sure this is all in the plans.

Meanwhile, good luck on your efforts.

Shouldn't this be something your school district should be buying and budgeting for?

With computers being obsolete in 2-3 years, you'd be doing this "sponsorship" forever.

Need some ideas on sponsering a computer lab. We are trying to raise money for a new lab and we were thinking of doing a room sponsership. Where if your a bronze sponser you get this, a silver sponser this, and a gold sponser this. We would like to make something permenant for the gold level. An example would be a block on the wall with the sponsers name etched into it or something but I am haveing trouble with ideas and where to find information. Any Help?
