I'm sorry I don't have any ideas to help with your question. But when I seen Fundraising and Pest Control it did make me laugh out loud and bring up some pretty weird images. :D

Will this be done on school grounds or is it a private field? Our state has strict policies about using any kind of chemicals. There is a special list they can use for cleaning and such. When the grounds are sprayed they have to send a notice several days in advance to inform parents. It's a big ordeal. Whatever you do, check policies and procedures.

We did have yellow jackets that took over our playground one year. The principal got clearence to get it sprayed. It didn't work. They pretty much had to keep the kids in until the first good frost.

Encourage your participants to wear light colored clothing. Mosquitoes like dark clothing. Perhaps you could find a good deal on tiki torches that you can put citronilla fuel in. I bought some at a Family Dollar for $1.00. They were cute, but you get what you pay for. Then you would have to put them where no one could get burned.

You can find lawn and garden pest killers at home improvement stores and our walmart carries them. Before you buy and spray, i would check with your district to see if they have the chemicals and will do this for you or have restrictions on you doing it because the chemicals are poison.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Hi,
We are planning a back-to-school carnival out in a field. Does anyone have any sure fire ways to keep mosquitos, bees, wasps etc from ruining our day. The field is pretty large, and bees are the main concern. Thanks.
