I am in the same boat as you. I too am hosting our first craft fair. E mail me and maybe we can share some ideas. I have found quite a few forms that you may be able to use regarding booth rentals and what the crafters may expect or want. The hardest issue I have encountered is locating crafters in my area.

Hope to hear from you.

My other thought that popped in was - be careful of the timing. Many crafters sign up with the same big craft fairs each year and are not interested in doing the small ones. Here in our area two of our High School groups do their fundraiser (via a very large and spacious craft fair) in the fall of every year (Septembe and October). This is a huge draw on the crafters and as a result, years ago the craft fairs at the schools (for carnival and such events) lost their crafters to the larger committments.

I would through some caution to this event this year, and check out a few large craft fairs - gather some cards from crafter at those craft fairs and find out if they woudl be interested in participating in yours next year. Also find out what the booth costs are so you know what those crafters are paying for booth space etc.

I would start with your parents send home an informational letter asking them to rent a space in your fair. Open it to Pampered Chef and Mary Kay ladies alike, post something in your local paper, and hang flyers in your local sr citizens homes, like retirement apartments. Take a deep breath and it will be ok.
