carnival ideas

We, too, are finally deciding to ditch some of the inflatable things we've done for years (Adrenaline Rush, Moon Walk, etc.) While the kids love these, they are just getting old.

So, the challenge was replacing them with something equally fun so they aren't missed.

We decided to do a speed/radar pitch. I was just at a fair with my 8 year old son and he loved this game. He had three chances to pitch a baseball at a target while a radar gun timed him. On the third pitch, he had to guess how fast his throw would be. If he got it right, he won a prize. He had to be dead on but I think we will give them a little extra room; maybe if they are within one or two.....

Another game we are going to try is the one you see at Six Flags alot. It's the "Guess Your Weight, Guess your Birthday Month Game". We will use an ordinary bathroom scale and a microphone. You need to have a very outgoing "guesser" to run the game. If the guesser gets the child's weight or birthday month right within one or two, then the child gets a consolation prize. If the guesser is stumped, then the child gets a better prize.

Hope this helps and don't be afraid of change!!!

Our school is thinking about not having inflatables at the Spring carnival. This has been a big money maker for our carnival. I'm looking for some new ideas to replace them with. Can you tell me what you do at your carnivals.
