Class Size Reduction-CSR

19 years 7 months ago #82474 by Critter
About 2 years ago, our district set up a foundation. The foundation is a separate entity from the district, a 501c3 on its own. There is an appointed board of directors/trustees from the community (So far, as self-appointed volunteers, but eventually maybe elected by somebody). I'm no tax consultant, but I suspect there are some key benefits to fundraising as a foundation vs. simply as a committee of the school district. The trustees accept grant applications from the schools and award amounts, just like any other charitable foundation.

If your needs are on-going (and show me a school whose needs AREN'T on-going), this might be an approach to consider.

Hello,
I am not sure if you all have heard of this, but our school district has to raise funds for 3rd Grade Class Size Reduction. Our goal is roughly $25,000.00 This will ensure our next year 3rd graders will have a student teacher ratio of 20:1 This is NOT a PTA deal, this is a district thing. I have decided to chair this and need ideas. Our school has an enrollment of about 460 children. What I am asking is for sample donation letters to corporations and/or local car dealerships. Can anyone help?
