auctioning hand made quilts

That's great. I don't know anyone who does patch work quilting. Most people around here do hand tied quilts. But I bet a Yugi-oh! quilt would do really well. We could make a matching pillow sham.

Our school does an annual auction and one of our biggest money makers is the hand made quilts. each room designs and makes a quilt that is put up on the auction block. Each parent is asked to donate $5.00 for the materials and usually one or two parents assemble the quilts. Sometimes the teacher will have the design and the quilt squares cut out in advance. Each quilt has a theme and most of the quilts have photos of the children. The parents are asked to embroider the name of their child on their square or emballish it anyway that they would like. You do not have to be an excellant quilter just know a few sewing basics. They are adorable. One quilt went for $1200.oo. The lowest is usually sold for around $200.00.
