This sounds interesting. How do you charge the money? Do kids just bring in cash to their classrooms?

We always do a penny drive in January or early February making it a contest, of course. The class that has the most wins a pizza party, then second wins a nacho party, and third wins a ice cream party. We have tried talking our principal into kissing something before that never worked. So I don't know if our teachers would or not. We usely raise over $1000. and we have around 500 kids in our elementary school.

We always asked the teachers and they gladly agree. The kids really get a kick out of seeing "The Winner" kiss the animal. By the way it was a baby pig and the frog was one from a pet store. Very clean and its not like they had to do ore than give it a very short, quick peck!

My vote is with Kathie - I think a coin drive would bring in lots of funds, the kids would donate, parents could come by and donate too - but way better than kissing an animal.

Okay, I'm going to go out on a limb here but I find the idea of kissing an animal (except for my own pets!) pretty gross. If you need funds, how about a penny war to see which homeroom can collect the most pennies before Christmas break or if you're donating this anyway, how about a coat drive, a food drive, etc?

If I were the teacher, I sure wouldn't do much to raise money for this fundraiser.... jmho.
