Thanks for the replies.

We are limited to 2 fundrasiers a year... so, I'm not sure if this is the one for us. I really appreciate your feedback!

We just signed up with Market Day, our first delivery day will be in Oct. We are excited. 10% doesn't sound like much but this is a monthly program so in the long run I think its a nice supplement to our budget.

We had them at our open house with samples and their food is very good, prices are very good. A lot less expensive that Schwans. If you or another parent are not satisfied with the food they get their $ back in the form of a credit. They handle any bounced checks. That alone is worth it.

We are a K-5 school with about 300 students. We are gunning for the free freezer next month!

We have approximately 515 students. Our income is very mixed from poverty level to upper-middle class. We're in the suburbs and the school is in a neighborhood. About ten of our customers are elderly women that live in the neighborhood and want to support the school. This fund-raiser is a way of bringing the community together. 10% may not be much, but it isn't the only fund-raiser that we do.

Seems like a lot of work for only 10%. Than again, we all do boxtops, etc. for pennies...
It might be hard to justify all of those volunteers for a small amount, unless you just have so many volunteers, that you don't have enough stuff for them to do!!
(It's early, maybe I'm still dreaming ;) )

Lucelle, sorry, missed your post.

Its kinda like Schwans- you order from a catalog of food and it is delivered to the school. You need volunteers to unload it.

As I said it is only a 10% profit, which seems very low since we are used to working with 40 and 50% profits.

could you tell me the size of your schools? We are about 450- in a very rural area- low income for most people as well.

I'm not sure how many people would find these prices in their budget when they can get them at walmart for $2 cheaper (on the stuff I have priced so far).
