I did this for fun at church. Everyone loved it!!

Bunco is a dice game played in rounds and very similar to Bridge in that you play in groups of 4 and rotate after each round. You can play as many people as you want as long as you have increments of 4. You play with the person across from (partner) but your score is individual. The 2 winners move up a table and the losers move back a table. You rotate spots so that you never have the same "partner" twice.

There are several versions but this is the general idea: the first round you roll 1's. As long as you keep rolling 1's, 3 of a kind (any #) or Bunco (3 of the current #) then it is still your turn. After you move tables then the number being rolled changes. And so on 1 - 6. Then some groups start with 6 again and go backwards and some start over with 1's. All of these little nuances are the groups decision.

It is a LOT of fun to play and you can't help but get to know people as you rotate around the room.

You could get donations for prizes (most buncos, most points, etc...), you could serve dinner before and you could do concessions throughout the evening.

It is also fun to do a theme. Have the prizes, score sheets, tablecloths, dice, etc...match the theme. Our group always did themes - Mardi Gras, tropical, family game night, holidays, etc...

There is a lot you could do with this idea. I was doing a craft fair and we have cancelled that so I am looking for something to fill in. I have thought about this as well as an all day crop-a-thon.

Good luck and let me know if I can help. I have planning worksheets for the hostesses.

I was curious if anyone has attempted a Bunco/Bunko fundraiser? Our community has quite a few bunco groups and I thought it would be fun to try it. I would imagine it would run similar to Bingo.

Your thoughts are appreciated.
