We have recently had the same proposal. Did you hear any more about this? Did you hear of anyone making a profit?

Scam, scam, scam! They are really a MLM company that uses the travel industry as a front. A card mill, if you will. It will not make any money.

It's hard to see a downside to this, as long as it is a reputable company, costs are comparable to the more well known sites.

I have a question regarding a fundraising program that used internet travel purchases similiar to grocery store purchases. I am attempting to evaluate a proposal given to me.

The scenario: Have parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles use a particular website to book any airfare, hotels, rental cars, cruises and vacation packages. Proceeds from the commission on the sale go to the PTO group. (I'm hearing 75% of available commissions.)

The potential: If there are 20-30 parents in the entire school who travel 2-4 times a month plus family vacations and are willing to book their travel at this site vs Orbitz, Priceline, etc, the PTO could generate a range of $5000 to $22000 (depending on the commission available).

The benefits: No selling. No product. No labor intensive volunteer hours. No kids needing to sell door-to-door.

I'm being told the only change in behavior required is in the purchasing of travel you were going to purchase online anyway.

I would appreciate your thoughts on this.
