College Fundraiser Ideas?

We get solictations from the volleyball team at my daughters college to purchase gift goodie baskets to send at midterm time. They charge $20 and include things like microwave popcorn, pretzels, homemade cookies, etc.

From the parents guide I saw an ad for a college employee who makes cakes for the students. So for my daughters 19th birthday I got a cake made for her. Think I paid around $20 for a custom decorated cake delivered to her dorm. It was her first birthday without her family but the cake and her friends celebrating made it a fun time. I think this was an excellent idea. We live 16 hours away from her and shipping a cake would have been out of the question and getting one delivered from a bakery would have been very expensive.

My husbands college alumni magazine usually has an ad in it from the popular college bookstore as well as a link to their website. I usually look at the website and often buy around Christmas time. I've gotten ornaments, football blankets, sweatshirts, etc.

I am a member of a college NTSO group (Non-traditional student orginization).

Right now we are selling Cherrydale Farms. They do have a way you can go online to purchase things and your group will get credit. Unfortunately, people around here are not very computer savvy and I don't know many people with credit cards. I do not have the time I wished I had to do this. We are also going to be collecting cell phones and ink cartridges. I am not sure which company we will use. We plan on setting up collection boxes in various places. They are also going to have a "2nd Chance Dance," in other words a prom for us old people. ;) Bake Sales and yard sales are somewhat time consuming, but I don't think that would be too bad. Are you allowed to raffle anything? If your group has an event maybe you can get something donated for a raffle.

we had an idea to create a simple customized long sleeved tee shirt with our name on it and wanted to sell it online, and have it shipped directly to the alumni.

We do this for our school's spirit wear with a local marketing promotions store that prints t-shirts, etc., and sells other marketing collateral--lanyards, mugs, etc. Right now, our online store only includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts and sweatpants. But, we are looking to expand it to include hats and lanyards. The local store set up the website for us, so it was pretty easy. They collect all the money and do all the delivery, unless people opt to have it delivered to school (on a once per month schedule). There must be someone up there in NY who can do that for you.

If not, and if you just want clothing items, try Land's End--you can have your logo applied to just about anything they sell, and they will give you a percentage of the sale. (Check out the "business outfitters" section.)

Concerned citizen, trust me, I am the first poster to report what looks like advertising and the above post does not. If you cut and copy a link from the address bar, it will include the http://.

To both of you, welcome to the forums!

As for your question Ade, our state PTA has worked with Office Depot, where they have set up the site, they do the work printing the shirts etc and handle shipping but it is shown as NV PTA only.

It doesn't say that it's Office Depot but they are the company that it's coming from. Perhaps you can try them.

Hi Concerned Citizen,

I am sorry if I upset you. I am neither. I just copied and pasted the link.

I am new to fundraising and I am trying to help out the active sorority. This was one of the sites I saw from another posting in this forum.

I just wanted to know if there was anything else like that out there that was more limited. The link I posted has too many stores for it to work for the active sorority.

Looks to me like you are trying to advertise schoolshoppers more than anything else. Nobody types http unless they really want someone to visit that site. Are you the owner or a commissioned salesman?????
