DNA or Fingerprinting

WE just used a company called Ident-A-Kid at our elementary school. They come in and take the childs picture, fingerprints, weigh and measure them. They then send out laminated cards the size of driver's licenses to you. The cost of ours was 1 card for $6.00 or 4 for $10. It went over very well.

Look into what I suggested! On the back of my kids' booklets it says "This document meets National standards set by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children." I believe that the Polaroid group and NCMEC have worked together towards this package.

Just a thought---how about trying the Center For Missing and Exploited Children for information on where to go? They may even be able to supply you with kits. I really have never checked into it, but it is the first place I would think of when planning something like this. Good luck and keep us posted on what you find out!

We did this at our preschool a few years back and it was a big hit. It's called Project KidCare and you can find it at www.polaroid.com

It came with a fingerprint kit, a booklet for the child's photo and i.d. data, and a plastic sheath to put it in. I update it yearly and always carry it with me since I travel frequently with my kids.

Please share back what you find out concerning cost, etc...

We are going to be having a Classic Car show/ carnival as a fundraiser for our Elem and I am in charge. I was wanting to do some sort of a community service like the ID kits, but I'm kind of lost. Our city police said that they don't have enough for that type of project and the Sheriff said they don't do that sort of thing. It sounds like I live in some hick town but we don't. I'm in Oklahoma and I just don't know who to turn to next. Thanks for all of everyones great ideas. We are going to be using so much this comming year. :D
