It's definitely worth a try. I only heard bits and pieces, but the one closest to our school apparently wouldn't give requestors the time of day, much less a donation. But this other one (until it closed) was a huge supporter.

Unfortunately now it just says "...many meaningful organizations" and completely deleted the next two sentences. My local store said they only donate food to huge gatherings like the Boys & Girls Club, etc... and that I could submit for a basic GC, but that it would be sent to corporate upon submission for review, regardless.
Getting Outback donated sure would top the hot dog vendor I have lined up.:-) I guess I'll contact a different store, but it's another 10 miles away. <crossing fingers>

From the "Contact Us" page - there is a menu of contact reasons. I selected the "Sponsorships and Donations" item, then it took me to the statement.

To be honest, the day I copied that Outback seemed to be having problems with their server and I think I copied from a cached page. Looks like they've edited a bit since then. When I looked at it today, the statement is worded slightly different but still has the same basic meaning.

That's what I understood to be the case. But it was the Athletic Boosters that did this, not the PTO. And I was only an attendee.

On Outback's website, they have this statement:

====================
Outback Steakhouse takes great pride in giving back to our communities by supporting many meaningful organizations. These range from civic & charitable groups, to youth sports and parent teacher organizations. Our giving is accomplished by donating our serious food and enlisting the volunteer spirit of our employees, we call them Outbackers, to help organizations raise money and awareness for their cause.

Please contact your local Outback Steakhouse directly regarding sponsorships or donation requests. Please have a written proposal prepared to submit for their review.
