We always have a fun day at the end of the year and sometimes we give each student a water bottle with the school name on it. Also sometimes we include ice cream in the days events.

For prizes, ask local businesses about donating pencils, note pads, key chains, balloons, and other things with their company logos on them. Check with your parents to see if they have contacts with any businesses. If you can't get anything free, try Oriental Trading Company (800-228-2269 or www.oriental.com), Oriental Merchandise Company (800-535-7335), and Kipp (877-200-3381 or www.kippbro.com) for inexpensive novelties for prizes.

This is to boyzx3- your day sounds great but I'm curious about something you mentioned!? You said "for those students who didn't purchase yearbooks you provide autograph books", you don't say what kind of yearbooks you get. Are they hard cover like high school year books? I'm curious because our elementary also gets yearbooks, they are paperback however, and as part of the contract with the photographer they are provided free of charge to every student, regardless of whether they purchased school pictures or not. I just thought you might be interested in knowing that. You may want to look into it.

On the last full day of the year our school of 780 students enjoy FUN DAY. We move the children by grade level from event to event round robin style. Our events include:

1. Main Event (super slide, moonwalk, speed pitch, Obstacle course, twist and Bounce, mini golf),
2. Magic Show in the mini theatre
3. Blacktop/playground (this time involves sidewalk chalk, free play on the playground, face painting, snow cones, small carnival games and a simple craft)Fire truck and ambulance are on site for the children to see and learn more about also.
4. Lunch (bag lunches in their rooms with little bit of quiet time)
5. Field games (Egg toss, sack races, pass the fruit, Steal the Bacon)
6. Yearbook signing (this is the day everyone receives their yearbooks and are able to have classmates sign them. For those that did not purchase a yearbook, we make small autograph booklets)

Support staff helped with the face painting, craft and snowcones.

Last year all the classes made class t-shirts such as Claytor's Critters, Carter's Clowns, fifth grade worn tie-dyed shirts.
This year we gave all the students school shirts and they will wear them on FunDay.

Used a portable as Fun Day Central with a volunteer there to assign parents that came to help, provided water and snack for volunteers and a restroom stop.
The day was perfect!
