Amy,

One thing we do for Red Ribbon Week is publish what we call a Parent Network Directory. We have a "letter and form" that gets sent out along with membership stuff in our summer mailing, and are available at our Parent Night (usually the second week of school) and gets put in our take-home a couple of times.

By signing the agreement, and being included in the directory, you're communicating to other parents that you offer a drug and alcohol free environment, that you'll be home during they're parties, etc....

Oh, we also do this in conjunction with the other middle school in the district... so there's one Parent Network Directory for the whole district. This is especially helpful as the kids get older and start socializing with kids from the other school.

I think this is what you might be looking for:
2002 Red Ribbon Week - October 23rd-31st

Be sure and check out the Red Ribon Works website @ www.gfpdrugfree.org/Home.asp

Plant a Tulip, Support Drug Prevention:
Parents, teachers, and students nationwide will be planting millions of tulips across the country to show support for drug prevention programs on National Plant the Promise Day, October 23. This is the headlining event in the National Family Partnership (NFP)'s Red Ribbon Week, October 23–31. The NFP will provide participants with tulip bulbs that will bloom into red, white, and blue tulips to symbolize a drug-free America. The tulips planted in October will bloom just in time for National Alcohol Awareness Month in April 2003!
