grade level fundraising

We also have fifth grade camp every year. We always have 2 buses of kids and 1 bus for luggage (although this year we have to rent a u-haul for safety reasons instead). We have not done fundraisers by classes, however, we do a lot of fundraising for the 5th grade as a whole with each 5th grade student having their own account.

First, they can have their portion of profits earned from the whole school fundraiser go to their child's camp account. In addition, we have a lot of success with a jog-a-thon. We also have tried pizza kits, bake sales, bowl-a-thon, candy bars, and Scrip (these vary from year to year according to the 5th grade parents). Each fundraiser earned from $250 (bake sale) to $5500 (jog-a-thon).

Some parents choose to pay for all of it themselves or just fundraise a portion of it and the rest fundraise all of it. Any money fundraised above the amount required for camp is put into the 5th grade camp scholarship fund. We give out full and partial scholarships based on the amount of money raised. This is my recommendation for the mother of 5 5th graders!

Hope this helps!

We have camp for our fifth graders every year. This has gone on for years. It is a wonderful tradition and great for the kids. However, prices have gone up this year, they will need two buses, and one poor family has 5 children going! I was wondering if anyone has done fundraising for individual classes. If so what kinds of fundraising, profits, etc. Also does anyone have any ideas I could give to this poor mother to help her out in some way. She is willing to put in the time.
