fundraiser PRIZES Question

12 years 7 months ago #159103 by Philip Stevens
True,
Great to hear that your prizes worked out! I've been researching a lot on the fundraising companies available and see a HUGE variety of different prizes they offer from individual prizes to group functions and events. Pizza parties, limo rides, iPods/iPads, Kindles and (gulp) cash. I definitely think that prizes can be a big motivator for the kids, but am reluctant to endorse giving cash as an incentive. My thought is that, yes, rewarding the kids is great, but the money should go to the school rather than the kids. Again, congrats on your fundraising success!

These are the prizes we used this year for our own fundraiser:

Free Ice Cream Cone (Donation from local shop)
Invitation to an Exclusive Party (held during their PE time) Inflatables, slushies, games and music. Low Cost!
T-Shirt
Stomp Rocket
Voice Changer / Disguise Kit
Flip Video Recorder.

The party is a big hit. We have that at the $25 level -so most people try to donate at least that amount so the kids can participate.

Last year we had a mashmallow gun - which was very popular (but we got a lot of complaints that they didn't work very well).

Good luck!

Bikes would really make the kids happy. I would stick with the top two sellers. We just got done with our Cookie Dough fundraiser and did more immediate prizes where the kids got something small every day. When the school raised over a certain amount, we brought in an assembly.

Unfortunately, my son was the top seller in the school and had little to show for it. He was sick the day of the assembly. Learning from this experience I would give more of a goal next year (like a bike) and have the students earn bigger prizes, not just little ones.

We are having our own fundraiser, and I need some ideas for prizes....
last year for the fundraiser we did gift cards and thats kinda.. well who knows if the kids reaily got to use it.....

This year I was thinking we could do bikes... they have them at black friday
would it be ok to have a top boy and a top girl seller?
or should it be whoever sold the most and the second most?

any other ideas for prizes would be greatly apperciated!!

Thank You!!
