Teacher Volleyball Event with Another School

I was at a school that did a basketball game like this (instead of volleyball). We held it at a local high school, so there were some restrictions on what we could do with food--we had to use the high school's concessions stand. I wasn't directly involved in a lot of the details, but I do know that the clean up detail was pretty intense. With all the cheering and people moving up and down the bleachers, etc., lots of stuff got spilled. So, you might want to keep any food limited to a reception type thing in the cafeteria after the game, or just keep it simple with popcorn and water.

We did have a raffle where some parents and local businesses donated a few pretty high ticket items, like iPods. For tickets sold in advance, the school that sold the tickets kept the proceeds. For any raffle tickets sold at the game, the schools split the proceeds. (Same thing for admission ticket sales--buy in advance, money goes to the school that sold it--bought at the door, ticket sales split 50/50.) There were people walking around through the crowds selling the raffle tickets during the game; prizes were drawn during halftime.

One thing that was popular was spirit packs--they sold pompoms in the school colors, and school shirts and other things you could wear or display at the game to cheer on your school. I believe all of that stuff was sold in advance only.

The high school also had their band or drumline perform during halftime, and I think both elementary schools had "dance teams" made up of older kids who did a little show as well. Both schools also had their mascots there to cheer during the game. Some of the teachers who didn't play basketball served as cheerleaders throughout the game.

Your obviously a health conscious school, beach, volleyball, sounds like fruit slushies to me lol!' it works if you can access to power supply to run your blender.

We have a fundraising event coming up and are looking for advice and info. We are an elementary school with 850 students. Our teachers and staff are going to play a volleyball game against another local elementary school (they are apart of our school system).

We have our team (one real and one for fun with a beach ball) and we are thinking of selling raffle tickets, water/popcorn, and maybe a 50/50 raffle.

Has anyone else done this before? Would love to hear about your events!!

Thanks!!
