Mardi Gras/Festival ideas

If you want beads, then order from one of the Mardi Gras company. We had a Mardi Gras dinner last year. We ordered the necklaces from emardigrasbeads.com and paid $36 for SIXTY DOZEN. Shipping is a killer, but it's still worth it. I think the beads were $25 and shipping $11. Still MUCH less than ordering from your novelty companies.

Hi Lindsrech-

Good idea to start a new thread. : )

Have you read this article yet? www.ptotoday.com/pto-today-articles/arti...rnival-success-story

Also a recent conversation on our Facebook page was focused on fall festivals but I think a bunch of the really good ideas are transferable to Spring festivals.

Ok, community members who have run a Spring Festival-- let's hear your fabulous ideas!

I noticed there is an old post below from over 10 years ago that's getting attention again. I thought rather than have to read through and search and try to get information from people who probably aren't involved or on this site anymore, it'd be easier to start a new thread.

Our school hosts a Mardi Gras every spring. We are always looking for new ideas to bring people in. Is anyone willing to share what games they have, etc? We always have an auction and cake walk and blackjack table. We are a K-6 school, but we try to draw in members of the community of all ages.

We used to have a preschool (5 and under) room with games, but it seems to have died over the past few years. Any games for this age group would be greatly appreciated as well.

For our prizes, we use Oriental Trading and Rhode Island novelty. If anyone knows of some other companies that offer prizes at a cheap rate, we'd be interested in knowing these as well.

Thanks.
