FYI Desktop School Supplies and Holiday Fair are the same company you might have the same issues if you are signed up with them for that program.

Thanks so much for all the school supply company suggestions. I have a feeling that this was the one and only year that we'll be doing a supply sale at our school. I hope the word is out about this company--they do both school supply sales and fundraising--so other schools can avoid a horrible experience like this.

This is such a terrible thing to happen to a School/Parents when they are relying on receiving their supplies for the school year.

Our school has been using School Tool Box www.schooltoolbox.com for the past 4 years. We have been completely satisfied and have always received our boxes in the week we are scheduled for delivery. I am the sponsor and every year I get 2 different quotes from other companies and always feel most comfortable with the STB company and pricing (very competitive). Their Sales Reps/Customer Service Staff are very professional and will always return your call/questions in a timely manner. I have never been disappointed. Their website is very nice, easy to navigate and allows you to submit your supply lists online. Offer multiple discounts/ promotions, they are definitely worth checking out. If your school needs a new company, I would highly recommend giving School Tool Box a chance.

Lakeville Company Leaves MN Schools Without School Supplies

Teachers and students depend on having the proper supplies to provide and receive a proper education. As school started two weeks ago, many students were left without school supplies, but to no fault of their own.

The Lakeville-based Geckler Company received hundreds of orders for school supply kits that were supposed to be delivered by mid-August, but the company never delivered on their promise.

Instead, only half of the orders were completed. "About half of what we ordered for the kids was there," said Lisa Anderson, a parent volunteer in the Shakopee schools. That failure to deliver caused Anderson hours of frustration.

"Hundreds of hours of my time and other time was wasted that could have been spent on other things rather than dealing with this," said Anderson.

Not only are Minnesota schools dealing with this issue, but so too are schools from across the country. FIVE EYEWITNESS NEWS found out that 150 schools in the US are having the same problem with Geckler, also known as Desktop School Supplies.

Company owner Dick Geckler says he just acquired the school supply business this year and admits the mistake. "I know they are very disappointed and we feel very bad about it and we will do anything we can to make it right for them," said Geckler.

Geckler assures that all of the schools waiting for their supplies will have them in two weeks or they will get a full refund.
