Your Nutritious Fundraiser Ideas

15 years 3 months ago #148864 by justfundraising
I hear what your saying Momski and I don't doubt the need for more gluten free products. It's just from a supplier point of view I'm not sure they would be big sellers.

For us offering a product just has to appeal to the mass public. We would sell products to teams of different age groups so they could sell to friends and family. I can't see going door to door selling gluten free items a big seller.

We've been offering trail mix and other consumables with a healthy slant in addition to chocolates.

However I have past the gluten free idea to the boss, so we'll have to see where it goes from there.

Thanks guys.....keep the ideas coming!

LOL! You're probably eating some gluten free (GF) items and not even knowing it.

Being GF is not the end of the world and many companies are wising up to this growing market of consumers. Unfortunately the U.S. has the food pyramid backwards and relies on bread, pizza and pasta for their main food sources.

Rice Chex is now gluten free, peanut butter, hash brown potatoes, most cheeses, canned tuna, corn-based products like mexican foods, and asian rice noodle bowls are also GF.... I could go on and on.....

They're also seeing less severe autism when children go on a GF diet.

I applaud your efforts in trying to find Nutritious food to sell as fundraisers.

My daughter is gluten free, which means I spend 2 hours every night cooking. It is always refreshing to see these kinds of posts.

Here is my wish list:

A NUMBER ONE: Anything that would save meal prep time, incorporate more vegetables, less carbs, and less preservatives:

> A (gluten free) packaged product that I could throw in with ground turkey and make a one pan meal, or crock pot meal.

> Sauces - gluten free soy sauce, teriyaki sauces, marinades, dips for chicken wings.

> Frozen Egg rolls/spring rolls/burritos (Amy's brand is awesome and Glutenfreeda will soon be offering a GF burrito)

> a healthy "lunch-a-ble" a grab and go lunch for my Vegan teenagers - who are lazy and would rather avoid eating all together than make something on their own.

> Taco meal kit (includes corn shells, taco seasoning, refried beans, hot sauce, etc.)

> Twice baked potato or a rice mix dish.

> a "make your own" sushi kit - teenagers LOVE sushi!

> Tea sampler with good anti-oxidant organic teas.

> Cooking Oil sampler with healthy cooking oils in fun little bottles (Canola, Peanut, Safflower, Olive).

This is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Hey

What ideas do you have for a nutritious fundraiser? I find that people want different options from chocolate these days. Especially sports clubs; They would like to sell something that represents them better than candy.

I want to get your feedback since I work for a fundraising company. I'm just getting opinions from you guys in order to see what products are of use to you.
