Box Tops For Education "Bonus" -Fact or Fiction?

15 years 9 months ago #145926 by Ellen
I believe the postmark date stated on the form is Oct. 31st. The 24th was the time for parents to turn in by so the coordinator had time to count & submit. At least that's what I got from the info.

I think the date of the 24th is probably for who ever made this sheet. That gives you time to get it mailed into Boxtops.

Just read through an 8 page thread on the Box Tops site on this topic. The consensus is:

1) Box Tops from Target aren't tagged/marked differently than other BT's

2) The only code on BT's is a code that indicates what product it came from (Hamburger Helper, cereal, etc.); not all General Mills products are going to be carried at Target.

3) If a Box Top came from a product not carried at Target, the school will not get the 20 cents (double) for that coupon -- it will just get 10 cents

4) Box Tops may be glued or taped to the submission form, but not stapled as General Mills runs the sheets through the shredder after processing.

Here is the link to get the submission form:

I have a submission form that I found on btfe's website some time ago. There is a limit of two forms per household, so it could add up to quite a bit of money if the coordinator prepared two for every family in the school (family name and address is required). In one place on the form, it says to turn it in no later that 10/24. In another place on the form, it said that the form must be postmarked by 10/31/08.

The only question is whether or not the Box Tops on Target products have a different design than the same product available elsewhere. This I do not know.

it is indeed fact - I can't remember if I had to request them or if they just sent them out. I got about 12 of the Target flyers and some of the booklets, which they said we could photocopy - so if you know someone else who does Box Tops and did receive the packet, you should just do that. It's sort of a strange program - there was alot of discussion on the btfe website about whether or not it really mattered if the box tops were really off of products that came from Target or not. Try calling btfe and see if they have any more to send out.

Hi!

I'm hoping that someone can help me out with this one.

I'm the Box Tops For Education Coordinator for our Middle School/PTN. I was on the Box Tops website today, and was reading some of the message board blogs, and one of them was related to bonus Box Top rewards, from Target. Basically, for every Box Top you send in before the 10/31/08 deadline, Target will match the dollar amount you've raised. You fill out the paperwork from Target, and submit it with your paperwork and labels to Box Tops For Ed.

One parent actually received a "red packet" indicating this, but I have been unable to find any information on this anywhere. I'm about to send in my submission form, and Box Tops, but wanted to look into this first, as it would be an amazing way to double our current earnings, and help us meet the goal I set for our school this year.

Looking forward to any advice, or knowledge any of you may have on this.

Thank you in advance - very much!
