HI Kathryn,
We normally use the school letterhead and just sign our name Mary Jones PTO President. I have never had a problem doing it this way. Good Luck!

Donation Request Letter was created by Kathryn
I requested a coffee donation from a local coffee place near us. The lady told me we need a formal letter on letterhead. Since it is for our PTO I was not sure if it would be appropriate to use school letterhead signed by the principal or if it would be more appropriate to have a letter on PTO Letterhead (which could be easily designed) and signed by the PTO president or treasurer. Then it occurred to me if we wanted to ask for monitory donations that we would want to include our tax ID # in which case I thought it should be signed by a PTO member on PTO letterhead.

Has anyone done this? Has anyone made up letterhead and sent out formal requests for monitory donations to your PTO?

Kathryn
