Funding Information Centers - a place to find Grant money

If you're curious about grant writing and would like to find foundations
and charitable grants that support your cause, go to this website and find a Funding Information Center near you.
Foundation Center - Cooperating Collections

I recently learned that a Funding Information Center was at my local university!

There are 300 national cooperating collections of the Foundation Center in New York City and has been ongoing since 1973. See this link to find a Funding Information Center near you:

The collection gives you resources to books, sample letter templates, grant application templates and more!

My local university even holds a 90 minute orientation 1x per month to get acquainted with the collection. Believe me, do the orientation class, if offerred!

The drawbacks are that you cannot take the materials out of the library and most charge for photocopying. They also will not find or write the grants for you - they are only a RESOURCE library.

However, if you're looking for the big bucks and willing to do the writing and leg work and know of a few people who could critique your work, this is a fabulous place to get started.
