Wondering from the other side

The others have given you some good feedback. The only thing I would add is that the sorting by grade/class/seller would be pretty much be expected by my groups. It's no longer a bonus feature but an expected service of the fundraisers we do.

I depends on the cost of the item your selling-- A Good fundraiser might raise 1-2,000.00// a very good fundraiser would raise $5,000+
If the cost for each item is under 5.00 you would be able to sell more--
I think it also depends on the advertising of the item being sold-- I would give a few samples or at least 1 that the school can show or display on a bulletin board.
Our fundraising money is all pooled together and distributed on a what is needed basis-- such as each teacher receives 200.00 from pto each year// we use our funds for assemblies as well as field trips and more.

Hi FoxMom. Thanks for the feedback. The 40-50% is very helpful. And I was wondering about how much actual dollars the schools get from an average fundraiser. $1000, $2000, $5000??? And how is it split between the classrooms?

My product is Beaded Bungee Bookmarks which were invented and created by my much older twin sister. ;-) (She's actually 72 minutes older than I am. She was born in the morning and I was born in the afternoon.)

I'm developing a kids line that will be easy for kids to use and targeted just for kids wtih colorful charms and shrinky dinks. And we have a regular line that are great for all readers. The bookmarks are very popular and unique in that they always stay on your book even while you are reading just in case you fall asleep or the phone rings.

I'm really excited about the fundraising with schools. Last year, I created custom shrinky dink images for a school in Idaho using their mascot. The principal gave them to her staff for Christmas who loved them.

Ok... well, if you're asking.... 40-50% nowadays is ideal... less than that is hard to sell to the PTO anymore. Also, I love to the idea of sorting by seller and then group by grade-- we ordered spiritwear this way last year and it was great.
What is your product?

I am looking for some suggestions to help make fundraising easier on all sides. (Don't worry---I'm not selling here.)

I am hoping to start fundraisers at schools with my products and thinking ahead to distribution and other things. What works, what doesn't, what would help the fundraiser organizers, what would help the teachers?

It's been a while since I've been involved with fundraisers (my kids are ancient and I'm even more ancient), so I'm out of the loop.

Here's what I was thinking. My product is small enough to package each student's order separately and then grouped by classroom. So no sorting would be required. Would that be helpful?

Any other suggestions? Also, what kind of return is usually earned on the fundraisers? What makes a fundraiser worthwhile for schools to actually do.

Take care. twinb
