plea for help letter

Short and simple- i like it!
I would have never thought to come up with something easy like that. Mine would have gone into explanations of sorts and probably would have been 2 pages long! That's just my personality I guess...!

How about something as simple as:

Dear (school name) Parents:

To make the fundraiser pick up process flow smoothly, the PTO will need volunteers. Product pick up time is from _____ to ____. If you can help us in any way during these times, Please contact (your name) at (phone #).

I use the form below for a volunteer signup they can send back in to school instead of calling. Then below this information, I have listed all the events we sponsor & the parents can check off what they are interested in.
If you can volunteer for any of the following events, the kids and PTO would greatly appreciate it! Return the form to school or drop it in the PTO mailbox located in the office.

I would just ask for the help but I need the dear parent letter to do so- our first PTO meeting consisted of about 8 people and none of them were able to volunteer because they all had their things to do for the PTO!! I need to let everyone know I need the help by sending out a request to every parent in the district.

Has your fundraising co-ordinator written a letter asking for volunteers for events in general? If so would you happen to have a copy available? That is basically all I need right now- just a letter to use to send out to parents to ask for help. I am not the letter-writing type- it ends up taking me days to write what I like. I am just trying to make this step a little easier for myself so I was hoping someone here happens to have something I can copy!!

Unfortunately our monthly meetings don't work with when things will be delivered and handed out. Our first fundraiser brochures were delivered after the first meeting but our next meeting won't be until after I need to call in all of the orders. And our meetings usually run so late that no one would be willing to stay afterwards to help. I don't blame them- we are usually there from 630-around 9pm!!

Hi there. Just to give you insight as to what we do: Have the brochures delivered to the school. Our fundraiser co-ordinator writes the parent letter giving all of the information on the fundraiser and makes the copies. Then before our monthly meeting we have our recording secretary call all of our e-board members to remind them of the meeting and ask that each of them bring a stapler. After our meeting we all help in stapling, counting and delivering the brochures to each of the classrooms (we have a student count by each teacher). It is a collective effort. I think you need to just ask for the help. Unless someone knows you need the help - you will be doing this alone. Hope that helps.

I am in charge of fundraising this year at school and need some help! This is my first year and I am going it alone so far. We just started our first fundraiser which will end next week. To start the fundraiser I had to staple 3 brochures and a totalling paper together plus send home the dear parent letter for almost 800 kids and it took me somewhere around 8 hours with a little help from my hubby to get all of this done. Besides my school-age child, I have a 2 year old and am due in the beginning of December with #3. Not only is this a little difficult to handle all by myself (I can't imagine what I am going to have to go through adding up the orders and calling it in) but carrying all of those 50 lb boxes of brochures and soon, the products, at 6 months is a HUGE no no from my OB/GYN!!!
....ANYWAY...not trying to throw all of my issues in everyones faces...does anyone happen to have a letter asking for volunteers for fundraising? Or anything close to it that I could copy so I can save some time writing something up myself? Knowing me I will re-write it 17 times and still not be happy with it and am hoping to save a little extra time!!!

TIA!!!
