We do Acme Receipts and do very well with that program. We receive 1%. I am looking to a paper recycling program that pays you for the amount of paper that you recycle. We all know how much schools go through paper and how much junk mail we all get at home so this sounds like a very good program.
In the midwest, we participate in Kroger's "Kroger Cares" program. It's not a colleciton program, but it is a very easy no-buying fundraiser. We earned over $6,000 last year by our parents simply using a special Kroger gift card to pay for their purchases. It's a little like scrip. There's no cost to the customer or PTO and the program can be administered by one person.
If you're in the south there is Community Coffee; if you're in the west there is a WalMart plastic bag recycling program.
We are also doing Fast Fixins, which is like the Tyson program. Nestle Pure Life water has a label recycling program, Terracycle has a 20 oz soda bottle recycling program, Office Depot gives your school a gift card based on ink jet cartridge recycling and Staples will pay $3 for eligible printer cartridges.

Has your school signed up for the Target program. When Target credit card users or Target on line users make purchases and they have their card or on line account aligned to your school, Target sends your school a % of the purchase. You just need to ask parents to go on line to their account and input your school account code in their account for the reward to be sent to the school.
Staples also has a rewards program and you can ask parents to use your rewards number when making purchases - especially now with school supplies. All purchases made with that rewards # will have a % kick back to the school.
Easy ways for the PTO to make money and parents are simply doing their normal shopping--nothing extra.
I'm not sure where you are located, but in the Boston area we can collect Hood Milk/Red Sox caps worth 5c. Also, Shaw's has a receipt collection program, worth 1% back.
