Ok, I have had some requests for information on this, so I am starting a new thread!
We started a Fun Run this year on a trial basis! It was the greatest!
The 2nd week of school we send home a large printed Envelope for donations...
Each child collects an amount of the donaters choice (we did not set amounts)... These people Sponsor YOUR child! It is great! I made my kids shirts with the "Sponsors names" which was again a hit!
We give the kids 3 weeks to collect monies! The least we collected I believe was $30 and the highest was over $500!!! From 1 child!
You set up a sheet with photos of the levels for prizes... EVERY child got a Frizbee, then 50 was a magnet, then 75 was tshirt, 150 was free game at the bowling alley (Donated!!!!), 200 was free game of golf at local range, then 250 was a 30 gift card to the mall, 300 was a tote bag, 400 pizza party for child and 3 friends, 500 was tickets to a ball game! - I think we had a 750 that was 100 to a local store! but no one got that!
You set up the field space you have, get a local DJ and rock some LOUD music, the kids run, jog, walk as much as possible... You could do races with ribbons for extra fun. They ate outside, and had a HUGE party!
