Product Delivery Problems a trend?

17 years 3 months ago #129755 by my3strongtikes
We had a problem with this for our holiday sale of Sally Foster Cookie Dough through Entertainment. On our contract it was supposed to be delivered the second week of December they couldn't get it to us till after the New Year. The worst part was that no ever contacted us to let us know. Whenever we tried to call they passed the buck as to who's fault it was. To say it was a huge mess would be an understatement. I had to get another cookie dough company to come in and fill all the orders so that we wouldn't lose anything. I didnt want to take the chance of cancelling for fear we wouldnt get parents to reorder and not being bothered.

Good Luck.

Kory I appreciate you time into answering this my only problem is that if they guarantee us a certain date and they have problems with their supplier then maybe they need to state up front that delivery can be in a two week window. Then we KNOW UP FRONT, it gets frustrating when you plan a big family night around this date and then have to figure out how to get the product picked up when it comes in one week before Easter.
Also most of the times the company tell us when they will deliver it not us tell them. They somehow found a way to have it here this week, I think the cancel if if you can't meet the contract date statement did it!

All,

I just wanted to give you the "fundraising company" side of the story. Hopefully this will help you better understand some of what goes on on our end. I can only speak for my company and I would agree that there are some companies and/or reps out there that have lost the concept of the customer comes first.

Most, if not all fundraising companies rely on suppliers or imports in order to fill your orders. If one of the supply chains break down then you have the potential for a late order or an order that is missing an item. We do everything we can to control these issues and when we cannot meet a delivery date we try and give the customer as many options as possible (receive the order with short items, receive quadruple the amount if we sub a like item, or if agreeable, move back the delivery so that the roder is delivered complete). We deliver 98% of our orders on time. We understand that is 2% too many, but unfortunately every once in a while we cannot control some issues (another issue could be a problem with the actual freight carrier being late).

Our company definitely cares about you the "volunteer" and we understand that you are putting yourself in a vulnerable position if we do not deliver on our end. Thank you for the time you spend at the schools and hopefully you will remain as positive and as understanding as possible should problems arise. Should you have any further questions for me please feel free to email me. Keep up the good work and keep fundraising!

We had the same bad experiences as Scottmom w/ Cherrydale and this year used Beich and had the same good experience - overall. There were several items missing from some orders but all in all, dates and times per the contract were kept as promised.

pals - stick to your guns. We looked at several companies (and even gave our old one a sit down) before choosing Beich and I have to say that many of the fundraising companies these days are forgetting that we are the customer and that we need to be able to rely on them. Beich was chosen in large part because they seemed, and were, very flexible with our needs and credible on their end of the deal.

We work with Kathryn Beich and as long as we follow the dates in the contract, which we always do, we don't have any problems.
In the past, we have used both Cherrydale Farms and JT Enterprises and had tons of issues with the delivery. Several items not in on time, missing orders, lots of broken items. I guess that's why we don't use them anymore.

The irony of commitment is that it’s deeply liberating-in work, in play, in love. The act frees you from the tyranny of your internal critic, from the fear that likes to dress itself up and parade around as rational hesitation. To commit is to remove your head as the barrier to your life. --Anne Morris

Okay I am looking to see how many groups have experienced any problems with fundraisers this year not being delivered by the company when promised. I ask this as twice this year we have had very reputable companies call and say they can not deliver our product on the day that we signed on for. This date is advertised for months!!
The problem with us is that as soon as we have a signed contract with a date for delivery we will schedule a Family Fun NIght the same night, this is months ahead of time, even almost a year. Then everything is fine up until the week before and poof they spring this on us.
Today I sort of lost it and told the company if they can't deliver our Easter Candy this week as promised we will cancel the order. Since September 14th we have had a contract and this pattern is getting old really quick.
How about anyone else? Are you seeing the same?
