Did your PTO and booster club begin together? Or did you at some time combine them?

Our PTO and Booster Clubs are combined, but we are a small school.

Provided the booster club's nonprofit mission is similar to what your new, combined organization's mission will be, then I think this will work.

I posted this under the "day to day" forum but thought I would double my chances for help by posting here, too!!
Has anyone had experience (or advice) about combining a PTO and booster club? My daughters school approached me about changing from PTA to PTO (I know how to do that, done it before!) and then possibly combing PTO and the booster club. Can we use the legal filings (non-profit, incorp., banking, etc) for the booster club and change the name to PTO? Revising by-laws of course.
