PTSO

Hi Bonnie, we discourage PTSAs in the elementary level because as such, they have voting rights and at that age, will they really know what they are voting for? In the middle and especially high school levels, our children become increasingly more aware of the issues that effect them. One of our state board members, who is also now a member of the National board, started at a PTSA. He isn't a teacher or parent, just a concerned college student. Your group is making choices that will effect them, either now in their own academic setting or later as they grow to be parents themselves.
I don't see a downside to it.

I would like to know what the pros and cons are to having a PTSO (students involved in the group).

Thanks
