But paying a dues is the only thing some can do- Life happens.... paying dues is enough.. we cant decide whats enough for them.
Reading with a child (at home), helping with homework, purchasing class supplies, talking about good PTA stuff to others, participating in fundraiser (taking order form to work) ,etc

- getting invovled in a childs education or bettering a school isnt ONLY attending meetings, volunteering, chairing a committee, etc.

I agree all these things should be a BIGGER priority for parents but its not (IT wont change soon either, unfortunatley) and quite a few in America cant or they'd have no food on the table, roof over there head, etc.

Its finding a way to maximixe the involvement, educate families and children, better the school, etc-- Its not the quantity BUT the quality (hate to beat anoverused analogy) - IF 20-30 parents show up to mtgs- Thats just icing on the cake- FOCUS on the positives and brainstorm to fix the negatives but dont dwell on 'em....

I have never been really upset with the meeting attendance. For us its just an informational venue and I know its hard for parents to get to everything. As for the other stuff helping out at events, and just coming to things I totally understand.
I think parents are just so buy and it just seems like so many of them just don't care its a shame.
